What To Wear Atlas provides clothing guides. You can read them without creating an account or uploading a photograph. This notice explains the information involved in using the current site and contacting its editor.
Website requests and hosting
Cloudflare hosts and delivers this site. It processes network information when your browser requests a page or an asset. Cloudflare says this can include IP addresses, traffic routing data, and system configuration information. Its services also process traffic information to operate and protect its network. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy, including its sections on End Users and Network Data, for its handling of that information.
Our site code does not add a separate visitor analytics service, advertising pixels, or advertising scripts. Cloudflare may add analytics or other service scripts when delivering pages, which may process information about your visit. We do not promise that Cloudflare keeps no logs or that its records are deleted after a particular period.
Preferences stored in your browser
The site uses your browser’s local storage to remember your color theme, the checklist items you have checked in a guide, and the outfit you have selected in that guide. These preferences are saved in this browser on your device. The theme and guide controls do not send these saved values to us, and they are not linked to an account.
In a guide, Reset checklist clears that guide’s saved checks and selected outfit. Clear selection removes the selected outfit while keeping your checked items. You can also remove the saved preferences through your browser’s controls for this site’s data. Blocking local storage can prevent these choices from being remembered, while you can still read the guides.
The site does not add its own analytics or advertising cookies. This statement does not describe every cookie that a hosting or security service might use.
Email you choose to send
If you email [email protected], your message includes your email address and any information you choose to provide. The email services used to deliver and answer the message handle that information. We use the message to address your question or correction. Please send only the details needed for that purpose, and avoid including sensitive personal documents or photographs.
Weather tool
When you enter a U.S. ZIP code, your browser loads a static Census ZCTA area file from this website and looks up the full code on your device. The first digit selects which area file is requested; the full ZIP is not included in that file request or sent to a geocoding service. As with other files on this site, the hosting service handles the network request.
The tool sends the matching area's approximate coordinates to api.weather.gov to obtain a National Weather Service forecast. These are Census area coordinates, rather than a precise device location. The weather service receives the coordinate request and associated network information, including your IP address; browser requests may also identify this website as their origin. We do not request access to your device's location.
The tool keeps your inputs and the current result in the open page's memory. It does not save your ZIP, coordinates, temperature, or clothing selections in browser local storage or session storage, and does not add them to the page URL. The site has no account or saved-outfit service. Ordinary browser and hosting caches can still hold the public static files used by the page.
If you choose Copy outfit checklist, the tool asks your browser to copy the displayed outfit text to your clipboard. That text includes the temperature, forecast label when used, and clothing suggestions; it does not include your ZIP or coordinates. If automatic weather is unavailable, you can enter a temperature manually without making a weather request.

The guides link to sources and other websites. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices. Review that service’s notice before providing information there.
